METAIRIE, La. (WGNO) – Former LSU quarterback Matt Flynn practiced with the New Orleans Saints for the first time Wednesday. Flynn was signed by the Saints, his 7th NFL team, this week to replace veteran backup quarterback Luke McCown, who had back surgery.
Flynn said he doesn’t have to learn the entire playbook, just the game plan for Sunday’s game at Washington against the Redskins:
Flynn said he lives north of Baton Rouge. He got the call from the Saints and drove to the club’s facility in Metairie.
The Saints are Flynn’s third NFL team this year. He was cut by the Patriots in August, and the Jets in September.
