NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A man was hospitalized early Sunday morning after a shooting in the French Quarter, according to the New Orleans Police Department.

Officers say just after 7:20 a.m. they responded to a shooting in the 100 block of Bourbon Street. On the scene, officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. Police say the man was taken to the hospital by a private car.

The condition of the victim is unknown and no further details are available. Officers are in the process of collecting evidence to find a suspect and motive.
