NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Orleans Parish Clerk of Courts Arthur Morell addressed the media Friday. Saturday, October 24th, is Election Day and a few polling places have been changed for various reasons, from closing down, renovations or not meeting the necessary requirements.The changes are below:
Woodland Presbyterian Church moved to Alice B. Harte Elementary School (15-14c, 17b, 18, 18 a)
Our Lady of the Rosary moved to McDonogh City Park Campus (6-8 6-9)
John Dibert School moved to Pierre Capdau Thurgood Marshall (5-5 5-6)
St. Peter Claver School moved to St. Peter Claver UJIMA Fern Brady Bldg (6-6)
Isidore New School moved to isidore Newman School Henson Bldg (13-9, 10, 12, 13, 14)
Kipp Believe College Prep moved to Central St. Matthew United Church of Christ (16-5, 16-6)
Morrell also said that there’s been a decrease in early voting and absentee ballot numbers, but he’s actually expecting an increase in voter participation from last year. Turnout was around 24% then, he expects the Governor’s race this year to increase turnout around 30% to 35%.
Voters must bring in an ID, if you have any questions contact a commissioner at the precinct immediately.
