NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – NOPD officer David Aranda was placed on emergency suspension without pay following a weekend drunk driving arrest, the New Orleans Police Department said.
An officer with the Causeway Police Department noticed Aranda driving erratically in his personal vehicle around 9:00 p.m. Saturday. He was heading northbound on the Causeway Bridge in St. Tammany Parish.
After failing a standard field sobriety test Aranda was arrested.
He was off-duty at the time.
Aranda is a 5-year veteran of the NOPD and was most recently assigned to the First District.
