NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – New Orleans Police released video and photos of an ATV involved in a weekend hit-and-run which killed a woman in Treme.
Daphne Cola, 37, was struck July 27 outside of a popular night club, located at the intersection of North Claiborne and Columbus Street. The mother of two died Wednesday after being taken off life-support.
Investigators are hoping the public can help track down a man and woman who were on the ATV. The male driver lost control of the speeding ATV and struck Cola and a parked car Sunday. The ATV flipped several times, but both the driver and passenger walked away from the wreckage and never returned.
The driver of the ATV is only described as an African American man wearing a dark shirt with writing on the front and dark shorts, according to police. The female passenger was possibly wearing light colored clothing.
