NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Louisiana State Police say they arrested a Slidell woman, 35-year-old Michelle Young, in connection with a hit-and-run case early Thursday morning.

According to troopers, they saw a sedan going the wrong way up Bourbon Street at a high rate of speed shortly after midnight.  They say the car hit two pedestrians whose injuries are described as moderate.

Troopers say the car turned onto Conti Street then went the wrong way down Chartres and Iberville streets.

Troopers say the car was moving in a reckless manner and eventually stopped near Rampart.

According to a news release from Louisiana State Police, Young was booked with hit and run, negligent injuring, reckless operation, flight from an officer, traveling against traffic on a one-way street, no license plate, suspended driver’s license, and failure to yield.
