NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – State troopers have arrested a Slidell woman after they say she led them on a reckless chase through the French Quarter after hitting two pedestrians.

Investigators say 35-year-old Michelle Young was seen by troopers, driving against traffic on Bourbon Street shortly after midnight on Thursday.

They also say she hit two pedestrians at the intersection of Bourbon and St. Louis Streets and continued to drive onto Conti Street.

That’s when they say she turned onto Charters Street, again traveling against traffic as troopers pursued her.

One of the troopers chasing Young was able to use his patrol car to ram her vehicle, disabling it.

Young was arrested and now faces charges of Hit and Run Driving, Negligent Injuring, Reckless Operation, No License Plate, and Driving with a Suspended Driver’s License.

The injured pedestrians were taken to the hospital, where they were treated for moderate injuries.
