NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Former Saint and current Saints Color Analyst Hokie Gajan has been put in intensive care.

WWL Radio reports doctors decided the ICU would be the best place for the 56-year-old, after his most recent round of cancer tests.

Gajan announced he had cancer late last year.

After playing for LSU, the Saints drafted Hokie in the 1981 NFL Draft.  He played in Black and Gold from 1982 to 1985.

Hokie would go on to be a scout for the Saints before landing in the broadcast booth. Gajan has been the WWL Saints Color Analyst for more than a decade.

Friends set up a GoFundMe page to help pay for Gajan’s medical bills.  They’ve already raised nearly $60,000 of their $100,000 goal and continue asking for donations.
