NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – The NOPD has arrested a 14-year-old boy who is believed to be connected to two different armed robberies that happened near Algiers last month.

On Monday, June 29, 2015, at around 7 p.m., the suspect robbed a man with a pistol at the intersection of Odeon and Lamarque Street. The man gave the boy a tablet, and then the boy fled the scene.

Later on the same day, four teenage boys were walking by the intersection of Michael and Terry street when two black males came up to them and robbed them at gunpoint. The victims all handed over their wallets and cell phones, and the two suspects ran away on foot.

New Orleans detectives eventually found the teen, and he was booked into the Juvenile Bureau and charged with Armed Robbery.

The second accomplice remains unknown, and the investigation is ongoing.

Citizens with information that can help solve this crime are asked to call Crimestoppers at 822-1111 or toll-free 1-877-903-STOP.
