NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — While most of us either bowed our heads in reverence or tried to ignore the Hurricane Katrina anniversary, one group of local artists put their works on display in a very public place.
Head to the corner of Jeff Davis Pkwy and Canal Blvd., and you’ll see the FLAG exhibit.
It’s the work of young artists who use their flags to reveal their Katrina experiences or story of survival.
The project’s organizer hopes to keep the project going for at least a year. They’re also using a Kickstarter campaign to raise the funds to rotate the flags on display as well as provide community outreach programs for young artists and others.
And you can even purchase some of the flags!
But time is winding down for the Kickstarter campaign. Click here to donate!
