TERRYTOWN, La. — On the morning of March 12, the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office began investigating a homicide.
Officials say the incident happened shortly after 8:00 a.m. in the 1800 block of Greenoak Drive, in Terrytown.
Deputies were dispatched to a residence in reference to a female who had been attacked by another female.
The 77-year-old victim was pronounced dead on the scene.
The suspect, a 32-year-old woman with special needs, was detained at the scene, and transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
Investigators believe the victim was serving as the suspect’s sitter.
The identity of the victim is being withheld pending the next of kin. There is no motive information available at this time.
The investigation is ongoing.
