BATON ROUGE (WGNO) — Louisiana Lottery workers announced a Zachary woman claimed her $1 million Powerball prize from Wednesday’s drawing.  She’s 42-year-old Tonya Vessel.  Powerball workers say she matched all five white numbers in the drawing but missed on the Powerball number.

Workers say Vessel took home $700,000 after taxes.  The winning ticket was sold at Pablo’s in New Roads which receives $10,000 for its part.

A second ticket sold in New Iberia also matched five of the six Powerball numbers in Wednesday’s drawing.  The owner of that ticket has yet to come forward.

Saturday’s drawing has now exceeded the $800 million mark with a cash payout of around $500 million.
