ST. TAMMANY PARISH, La. (WGNO) – The Saint Tammany Parish Coroner’s Office confirms that it has identified the human remains found inside of a burned car as a woman reported missing in Bush.
Nanette Me’Shell King was reported missing on September 20 after leaving her job at a convenience store. The search for her included helicopters, four-wheelers, and people walking through the area.
But the big break in the case came over the weekend when two women discovered a burned car in the woods along Highway 16 in Sun, LA. They saw the human remains on the car’s backseat and contacted the Saint Tammany Sheriff’s Office.
As of Monday afternoon, deputies had not made a positive identification of the car or the remains, although they were able to read three letters on the car’s badly burned license plate. Those three letters matched King’s license plate. Also, the burned car was a Mitsubishi, the same car King drove.
