Last month you may have heard about David Lowry’s fight with renal cancer. Thousands of dollars were raised to help Lowry and his family rebuild their home in Laplace after it was destroyed by Hurricane Issac. Unfortunately, the 47-year-old lost his battle with kidney cancer on Saturday morning.
Lowry was back-to-back coach of the year for the St. Charles Catholic softball team, leading the Lady Comets to the state finals in 2005 and 2006. He also served as director of equipment operations at Tulane, but most fans know him for him for his voice during the baseball season.
