LAPLACE, La. (WGNO) – The St. John Parish Sheriff’s Department has arrested one of their own.
According to a department press release, 32-year-old deputy Keith Carroll was arrested on charges of theft under $750 and malfeasance in office.
Acting on a citizen’s complaint, an Internal Affairs investigation revealed that Carroll used a Sheriff’s Office fuel card to fuel a non-department vehicle.
Carroll was employed with the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office for seven years and assigned to the Criminal Patrol Division.
He was terminated on January 13.
Carroll was released from custody on a personal surety bond.
