NEW ORLEANS – (WGNO) – The new documentary called Zack and Addie provides a personal look at a horrific crime and the people it affected most.
Director Rob Florence decided to make the film after a chance meeting with a woman named Margaret Sanchez.
In October of 2006, police found the body of Zack Bowen in the French Quarter. Bowen committed suicide by jumping from a hotel. He also left a note directing police to the apartment he shared with his girlfriend, Addie Hall.
At the apartment, police found Hall’s dismembered body in pots and pans on the stove and in the oven.
Sanchez was friends with the couple. Florence says he decided to make the documentary after hearing Sanchez talk about how the couple’s death continued to affect her life.
Sanchez agreed to be interviewed for the project. She talks about her shock after learning of the deaths and her nightmares that followed.
