MARKSVILLE, La. (CNN) – Louisiana state police have arrested two Marksville police officers accused of killing a 6-year-old boy.

They say officers Derrick Stafford and Norris Greenhouse will face murder and attempted murder charges.

The two officers said they shot Jeremy Mardis after his father led them on a car chase in Marksville Tuesday night.

The officers claimed the father, Chris Few, fled when they tried to serve him a warrant and that he reportedly started backing his car into the officers when he got stuck on a dead-end street.

That’s when the officers fired, killing the boy and injuring his father.

Investigators later said Few was not armed and they still haven’t located any warrant against him.
