ROSS, Calif. (WGNO) – A former headmaster of Isidore Newman School was arrested in a California hotel with drugs and an unconscious woman, according to authorities.
Thomas “Woody” Price, 54, faces three felony drugs charges, including drug possession for sale.
Price was head of the Uptown prep school from 2004 to 2007. He left Newman to take a job at a private school north of San Francisco.
Price resigned his post from that school shortly after being booked, the Marin Independent Journal reports.
The Branson School released a statement saying: “We are deeply troubled by these developments. We want you to be assured that our school leadership team and our board of trustees are fully committed to the health and well-being of your children.”
Tuition to attend Branson is almost $40,000 a year.
ABC affiliate KGO reports police were tipped off by 21-year-old Brittney Hall’s boyfriend. Hall, who was also found in the hotel room faces charges.
Price’s first court appearance is set for next month.
