HOUMA, La. (WGNO) – Terrebonne sheriff’s deputies have arrested five people they say used an axe to break through a brick wall of the Urgent Care Pharmacy on Corporate Drive early Tuesday morning and stole a large amount of narcotics.

Detectives used surveillance video from nearby businesses to identify a red Dodge truck that they believe was used by the suspects.

Investigators say further information led them to a possible suspect, Alain Woods of Houma.

Woods and four others were arrested during a traffic stop involving a red Dodge truck, like the one seen on surveillance video.

Detectives say they were able to gain a search warrant for Woods’s sister’s home on Gouaux Avenue, where they recovered a variety of narcotics.

Arrested in the case are:

  • Alain Woods, 24, of Montegut
  • Clifton Halloway, 18, of Houma
  • Diquan Woods, 22, of Houma
  • Joann Cuccia, 22 of New Orleans
  • Haley Nunez, 17, of Tennessee

The five suspects were arrested on one count of burglary of a pharmacy and conspiracy to commit a pharmacy burglary.

Detectives say the suspects planned to burglarize another local pharmacy Tuesday night before their arrest.

Alain Woods was recently arrested in St. Tammany Parish for other incidents involving pharmacy burglaries.

He was out on bond awaiting trial.
