GULF SHORES, Ala. – The 40-year-old son of Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson is out on bail after being arrested on felony drug charges at Hangout Fest in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
Festival security officers said Asa Hutchinson III was attempting to hide something near his waist while in line. When deputies searched him, they found ecstasy and molly.
“That was more of the common drugs you see at the festival. Mood altering, rave type drugs. Gives people a very relaxed sensation and certainly puts them in the mood for the festival,” said Major Anthony Lowery with the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office.
Hutchinson was released on a $5000 bond early Sunday.
Governor Hutchinson responded to the arrest saying his son is an adult and will have to address this just like he has done in the past.
The 40-year-old lawyer was arrested in January for an alleged DWI.
