NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – The NOPD is asking for help locating a 19-year-old student who was last seen yesterday leaving for school at Delgado Community College.

Shroq Aziz was reported missing around 5:30 p.m. Monday by her parents after she failed to return home from classes.

WGNO News Reporter Darian Trotter has the latest on the case and reaction from family members.

“I want her home, that’s all I want. I want her home safely,” Kary Aziz said about his sister.

People close to Shroq Aziz are struggling to hold it together. They’re worried sick about the 19-year old Delgado Community College student who’s vanished without a trace.

“I can’t, I can’t,” her father sobbed.

Aziz was last seen early Monday morning. She left the family’s Arabi home around 7:30 a.m. heading to class.

“They have all these cameras on campus, yet all they know is that it was two guys in a black BMW”

Loved ones are concerned because she hasn’t been seen or heard from since.

Trotter asked, “What happens when you dial her number? It just rings six, seven times and it goes to voicemail, Kary Aziz replied.

Trotter asked, “So you know it’s still powered up? Which is strange because she doesn’t have her charger and she’d had her phone since yesterday morning so I’m surprised it’s still on,” Kary Aziz replied.

Family members found Aziz’s car parked in a lot on campus near the Student Life Center.

The car is now outside the family’s home; where everyone is worried that Shroq Aziz was abducted.

“And when we went Delgado and they checked the cameras they seen that a car came up and just shoved her in their car and took off,” Kary Aziz said. “Then the crazy thing is, they say they have all these cameras on campus, yet all they know is that it was two guys in a black BMW.”

New Orleans Police confirm security camera video shows Aziz get into a black vehicle; but it’s unclear if she went against her will.

Trotter asked, “Who’d want to hurt her? Nobody. She’s so sweet. She’s an angel. She’s one of the best people you could meet,” her brother replied.

“Me and her were really close. She’s not the type to run away. She’d never do that,” Shada Aziz said about her sister.

“Whoever knows where she is, just let us know. I just want her back,” Kary said.
