NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – The iconic building that housed The Times-Picayune for almost 50 years has been sold.

The Advocate reports that 3800 Howard Investors LLC, which includes developer Joseph Jaeger Jr., paid $3.5 million for the property.

The site is 8.9 acres located on Howard Avenue near the Broad Street overpass.

Others involved in Howard Investors include Mardi Gras World President Barry Kern, developer Arnold Kirschman and businessman Michael White.

The group has “no immediate plans” for the property, according to The Advocate.

The building has been largely unused since 2014, when The Times Picayune announced that it was moving its printing operations to Mobile, Alabama.

Before that announcement, most of the staff had already moved from the old building into the top two floors of One Canal Place downtown.
