SLIDELL (WGNO) — If you think you have a tough day at work, imagine having a job where your life is on the line- everyday.

At Camp Villere in Slidell Tuesday afternoon, ATF agents entered a warehouse where a shooter had barricaded himself.

Luckily, this was just a training exercise and not the real thing!

Agents train every three months to brush up on their skills.

In this exercise, agents learned how to give medical care in a situation where it’s too dangerous for emergency responders to be on the scene.

“They can use it at home with their family and kids or even in the public. When they see someone get injured, they know immediately where to go, what to do immediately to stop the bleeding,” says Special Agent Phillip Durham.

There are 45 ATF agents in the New Orleans Division.  At times, NOPD officers and law enforcement from other agencies also participate in the training exercises.
