NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – Every year, the Superdome goes through hundreds of events. Speakers must be lowered and checked yearly, and maintenance is a very important factor in keeping up the 45-year-old building.
If you think your electric bill is high, try this one. On average, the Superdome spends about $350,000 on electricity! If you think that’s crazy, on an average sold out Saints game, the Superdome staffs over 4,000 people.
With so much staff to fill, the Superdome is always looking for workers.
“Ushers, ticket takers, security guards police detail, guest services personnel, house keeping, and then of course the concessionaire,” said Superdome General Manager Alan Freeman. “We have job openings for almost every different job responsibilities at this point.”
After it’s all said and done, the payroll can equal out to around $400,000.
