The Dauphine Hotel is really haunted

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – At the Dauphine Hotel, guests report sightings year around. That could be why it was voted the fourth most haunted hotel in the country, in a USA Today reader’s poll.

Ghost hunters have confirmed several wandering spirits at the former brothel, including Millie — a distraught bride who never made it to the altar.

“Millie is seen most frequently on that balcony up above, wearing her wedding dress,” says Marc Becker, director of the New Orleans Hotel Collection.

She died from a broken heart and is allegedly still here, looking and waiting for her lost love.

There’s also the dancing girl.

Hotel guest described her as a girl seemingly dancing in the air over the pool.

So if you’re looking for a local scare, head to the Dauphine Hotel and just maybe you’ll feel the touch of a bordello girl who worked for May Baily in the 1800s.
