NEW ORLEANS (WGNO)- Next year Baton Rouge is celebrating its bicentennial and the city wanted a mascot so they chose a Red Stick.
Visit Baton Rouge posted a picture on their Instagram account along with a description.
It reads, “Meet our Red Stick mascot, who will be making appearances throughout our bicentennial celebrations in 2017! Naming contest coming soon.”
Baton Rouge will kick off its bicentennial celebration at the annual Red Stick Revelry on New Year’s Eve.
Before you start laughing at their mascot, New Orleans is gearing up to celebrate its tricentennial in 2018.
