NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – Katrina: Mother-in-Law of ‘Em All is a play by Rob Florence (Fleeing Katrina, Katrina’s Path, The Hurricane Katrina Comedy Fest).

Florence has been well known for his Katrina plays and has been mentioned in The New York Times.

In this new performance not only are some of the actors in the performance are actors portraying Katrina survivors, real Katrina survivors are taking over the stage as well.

Since 2006, several versions of this docu-theatre piece have been produced to acclaim on substantial stages around the country.

The play is set in the Mother-in-Law-Lounge and depicts the real-life Katrina experiences of six survivors: Antoinette K-Doe, Sylvester Francis, Rudy Rasmussen, Arthur Raymond Smith, Sidney Smith, and Jenny Lynn Waters.

The play will be performed at the Joy theater in downtown New Orleans for the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. For ticket info CLICK HERE.
