UPDATE: August 25, 2021, 9:00 p.m. — On Wednesday, NOPD announced the arrest of a suspect in connection to the shooting that occurred earlier this month.
Police arrested 39-year-old Bernard C. Nwubah on one count of second-degree murder after positively identifying him as a suspect in the incident.
The shooting stems back to August 16, when police responded to a report of a shooting in the 2600 block of Dumaine Street.
Upon arrival, officers found a male victim on the floor suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim, later identified as 48-year-old Isaac Johnson, succumbed to his injuries on August 16.
Nwubah was apprehended without incident and was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center.

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Early Saturday morning, the New Orleans Police Department began investigating a shooting that happened in the 2600 block of Dumaine Street.
Around 5:40 a.m. officers responded to a call and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.
The man was taken to the hospital by EMS.
