NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – It’s COOLinary month, which means lunch under $20 and dinner under $39 at over 70 great restaurants around town. Did you know these facts about Palace Cafe?
1. The building that houses Palace Cafe was a historic music building for over 150 years.
Once the home to the historic Werlein’s music building, Palace Cafe still showcases love for music, with murals of famous New Orleans artists on the second floor.
2. Got the temperature? You got the temperature lunch!
The popular New Orleans summer dining tradition continues at Palace Café with Temperature Lunch, returning for its 22nd year. Temperature Lunch is available Monday-Friday, 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Two courses are priced at the previous day’s high temperature (85° on Monday=Tuesday’s $8.50 lunch) but hurry, because this deal is only available through Labor Day! Check out the story Wild Bill did on the Temperature Lunch last year.
3. Like rum? There’s a free club for that!

Palace Café is the official home of the New Orleans Rum Society, a spirited society dedicated to the appreciation of fine rums. Membership is complimentary, and you can apply to be a part of the society on the Palace Café website.
