NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — New Orleans police are trying to solve a pair of burglaries. Both happened on December 26th. And both were featured in the latest Wheel of Justice report.
In one of the cases, someone stole a laptop from a home in the 5100 block of Spain Street. According to the NOPD, the laptop was an Apple Macbook Pro and it was tracked to a gas station at Chef Menteur Highway and Downman Road. Surveillance video from the store shows a man with the laptop. Police say he sold it to a worker there, but they don’t know for sure if he’s the person who originally stole the computer. The worker was arrested and booked with possession of stolen property. As soon as the man seen in the surveillance video is arrested, he will be booked with the same charge.
The second Dec. 26 burglary happened in the 1600 block of Mirabeau Avenue. Police say a homeowner returned to his house to find the rear door had been kicked in. Surveillance video shows a pickup backing into the home’s driveway and leaving moments later with a refrigerator in the truck bed. The truck is described as a tan Chevy or GMC.
