NEW ORLEANS, la.(NOPD)

The NOPD is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying and locating an unknown man who is wanted in connection with snatching a woman’s purse this morning in the 200 block of Royal Street.

Around 3:20 a.m., two females were walking in the block when the suspect approached them on a bicycle. Seconds later, the suspect snatched one of the victims’ purse from her shoulder and peddled away.

The suspect was described as an older black male with a dark complexion, slim build with grey hair.

He was last seen wearing a blue and white shirt, dark jeans and riding on a dark color mountain bike.

The Eighth District Investigative Unit is in charge of the investigation and can be reached at 658-6080.
