NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — An 18-year-old who was arrested with three others earlier this week in connection with a string of Uptown robberies, has been found as a suspect in an attempted murder case.

Police say Taman Martin and another man approached three people in Dannell Park at St. Charles Avenue and Octavia Street December 20, 2014.

One suspect demanded money and began searching the victim’s pockets, the other suspect reportedly made a comment to one of the victims and shot him in the chest. Both suspects then fled on foot.

The victim was transported to the hospital and was listed in critical condition.

Taman Martin has been identified as one of the suspects. He was already in Central Lock-Up and will additionally be booked with attempted armed robbery and attempted first-degree murder.

The investigation is ongoing and detectives are investigating to establish the identity of the second suspect that shot the victim.
