NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – A prominent local writer and strong voice in New Orleans post-Katrina has started a French Quarter history tour service.
Chris Rose, a former columnist for The Times-Picayune and author of the New York Times best-seller “One Dead in the Attic,” is leading locals and tourists through the Quarter for two hours of what one tour-taker called “intriguing, insightful and downright bizarre” stories of New Orleans and Louisiana.
The New Orleans Magical Musical Mystery History Tour weaves through the quarter and ends in Congo Square, where Rose educates and entertains with anecdotes about musicians, brothels and more.
Kim Bergeron took the tour and wrote about it on her blog. She said tour-takers “cling to every word,” but warned that “if you’re looking for an experience that weaves tales of voodoo and vampires and ghosts, however embellished or fabricated such may be, this is not the tour for you.”
