NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – The National Weather Service has confirmed that an EF2 tornado touched down in Convent, La. Tuesday afternoon killing two people and injuring 30 more.
An EF2 tornado means that wind speeds were reported at 111-135 mph.
Besides winds, a storm survey team discovered that the tornado had a width of 115 yards.
More than a hundred trailers were damaged when the EF2 tornado struck the Sugar Hill RV park around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Two people died, seven people were critically injured, and more than 30 others were hurt.
Sugar Hill RV park is located off Highway 44.
