NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Three people each received a new Mercedes-Benz Monday night, and Saints wide receiver Brandin Cooks delivered the cars.
It was all part of the Mercedes-Benz 10 Years Strong initiative.
Vickie Leleu, William Stoudt and Pastor Fred Luter Jr., each received a car for their work helping the New Orleans area recover in the ten years since Hurricane Katrina.
Luter was recognized for his efforts to locate members of his congregation after the storm and help them return home.
Leleu, a social worker, helped lead two important case management programs during the recovery despite the fact that the center where she worked was forced to close due to storm damage.
The third recipient, William Stoudt, started a non-profit organization, at the age of 17, along with some classmates at Jesuit High School and is credited with assisting more than 300 homeowners.
