Paris Road is down to 1 lane in both directions following police activity this afternoon.
CHALMETTE, La. (WGNO) – The St. Bernard Sheriff’s Department has shut down Paris Road in both directions at the Orleans Parish line because of a police action.
Deputies are searching for a man who bailed out of a vehicle and ran into a swampy area when they tried to stop him for questioning.
Sheriff James Pohlmann says the incident began about 1:30 p.m. when agents of the Special Investigations Division tried to stop two men in a vehicle.
Both subjects fled the vehicle, but one was quickly caught while the other ran south of Paris Road and hasn’t been apprehended.
