NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – Top Chef fan favorite, Nina Compton, has officially made New Orleans her home. Her new restaurant Compere Lapin opened Tuesday in the Warehouse District.

During her time shooting season 11 of Top Chef, Compton says she fell in love with New Orleans.  Now after 14 years in Miami, she and her husband Larry, who is also her business partner, have relocated to the Crescent City for good.

Compton, a native of St. Lucia, will combine her Caribbean upbringing  with her background in French and Italian cuisine on the menu to make flavorful and unique dishes.

Compere Lapin is located in the Old No. 77 Hotel & Chandlery off Tchoupitoulas.
